About WaxingWhat are the benefits of waxing?
Waxing is one of the most efficient techniques for hair removal. Waxing is great for both men and women, it removes hair at the root, causing it to grow back much slower than shaving. Waxing lasts between 3 to 8 weeks, the new hair growth in waxed areas is soft and fine, not sharp and coarse like shaved hair. After waxing, hair re-growth is less common and eventually some hair may never re-grow.
How long should the hair be before waxing?
Ideally your hair needs to be 1/4 to 1/2 inch long for the procedure. If you hair is too long, we will trim it to 1/2 inch long.
Are there any precautions to take before waxing?
Our skin care specialist will clean your skin thoroughly before starting- no oils, conditioners or perspiration should be present. We can not perform waxing service if you are taking Accutane and can not wax area treated with Retin-A or glycolic acid products. We can not perform waxing on area recently treated with microdermabrasion, chemical peel or laser.
What I may experience after waxing?
Everyone is different as to how their skin reacts to having been waxed. Some clients experience some redness, and skin bumps that can last a few days. White bumps on the upper lip and breakouts on other parts of the body (usually face, chest and back) can also occur.
Following the waxing procedure, you should:Avoid the sun and wear some sunscreen
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirl pools and other heated sources for at least 24 hrs
Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24hrs
Avoid tight clothes, especially in the waxed areas. Tight clothing may result in irritation and ingrown hairs.
To help avoid ingrown hairs and increase the success of your waxing, our skin care specialist recommends using Tend Skin® Liquid after your waxing procedure if you are not allergic to aspirin.
After your first waxing, you should notice a re-growth in about 10 days. By the third regular waxing, you will notice that you hair is finer and not as dense. The re-growth will be slowed and you will notice that it can take from 3 to 4 weeks for the hair to come back.
One last note about waxing:
We ask that you be patient for about 1 month, don't tweeze, shave or use a depilatory cream, come in every 3 to 4 weeks like clockwork and you will love your waxing even more then you do now!
About Brazilian Waxing
How long should the hair be to get a Brazilian waxing? Do I have to trim before coming?
Hair growth needs to be at least 1/4 inch long. If it is longer, do not trim, we will trim for you before your waxing service. Is it painful?
It really depends on your pain threshold. Some people are very sensitive, but usually, it is not painful. One important thing is not having your hair too long. We always trim the hair before waxing if your hair is too long. We have a lot of experience in brazilian waxing, our clients are always pleased and are coming back! We recommend a 30 min back Hot Stone Therapy after your waxing service. This makes your waxing service an enjoyable experience: you will leave clean with a silky smooth skin and deeply relaxed.
When should I come back for my next Brazilian?
We ask that you come every month. Don't tweeze or shave, just come in every 3 to 4 weeks like clockwork and you will love your waxing even more than you do now!
Is there any time to avoid a brazilian waxing?
Women should avoid coming the days before their monthly cycle since the body is more sensitive
How long does it take to have a Brazilian done?
Between 30 and 60 minutes depending on how much hair there is to wax. The first time, count an hour.
Are there any precautions I should take after a brazilian waxing?
We recommend starting using a loofah (scrubby mitt) or Tend Skin ® liquid the day after your waxing on the area between the belly button and the pelvic bone. This area is prone to ingrown hair and by doing this exfoliation, you will avoid this problem. Otherwise, you have nothing special to do. Our hard wax is gentle with the skin and you will have no irritation. Just enjoy your silky smooth skin!
